Constantia property for sale

Constantia, one of the older suburb, is arguably the greenest area in Cape Town. It lies in the lush Constantia Valley, between the southern suburb of Wynberg and the Table Mountain National Park, and is home to several magnificent, centuries-old vineyards.

Constantia property includes historic homes with extensive gardens. Many Constantia houses feature well-preserved Baroque or Cape Dutch architecture, with views onto rolling vineyards and densely forested mountainside. Constantia home owners can still walk their dogs or ride horses in country lanes not much different from those of a century ago.

In recent years, Constantia Real Estate options have expanded to include many smaller properties, for new residents who want to enjoy the lush surrounding landscape and the peace and quiet of the area.

Constantia Attractions

The Constantia Wine Route features the oldest vineyards in the Cape. These are of interest for their fine wines, but also for their well-preserved, gracious homesteads and beautiful surroundings.

You can still visit the estate of Groot Constantia, which dates back to 1684, and picnic in its magnificent grounds. Other deservedly famous wine farms in Constantia include Steenberg - which is the oldest estate, dating all the way back to 1682, Klein Constantia, Constantia Uitsig and Buitenverwachting.

As well as fine wine, Constantia property owners can enjoy fine cuisine. Constantia boasts some of South Africa's top-rated, gourmet restaurants. Among these is the deservedly popular Constantia Uitsig Open Door Restaurant, on the scenic wine estate. Other fine dining restaurants worth a visit is Foxcroft at High Constantia Centre; Jonkerhuis at Groot Constantia; Catharina's; as well as Bistro Sixteen82 which is down the road at Steenberg, Tokai.
